About Ethereal
What is Ethereal?
Ethereal is a boutique skin practice in Miami founded by Florida-licensed facial specialist Indhira Pepen.
Treatments are personalized according to the condition, history and needs of the skin. Clients are not expected to select professional modalities or diagnose their own concerns before arriving.
Is Ethereal a spa or medical practice?
Ethereal is a boutique esthetic skin practice. It is not a traditional day spa, dermatologist’s office or medical clinic.
Services are cosmetic and esthetic in nature. Medical conditions must be diagnosed and managed by an appropriately licensed medical provider.
Who performs the treatments?
Treatments are performed by Indhira unless otherwise stated during booking.
Does Ethereal treat every complexion?
Yes. Every complexion deserves treatment that considers skin tone, sensitivity, pigmentation risk, history and individual response.
No skin should be treated using a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Are treatments available for men?
Yes. Treatments are based on the skin, not gender.
Appointments
How do I know what to book?
New clients should begin with the designated first-visit appointment.
This provides time for consultation, skin assessment and a personalized treatment. You do not need to choose professional products, machines or modalities yourself.
How long should I plan to be at Ethereal?
Appointment length depends on the service reserved. Please review the duration shown when booking and allow additional time for arrival, consultation and checkout.
First visits generally require more time than maintenance appointments.
Is consultation time included?
Yes. Consultation and skin assessment are part of the treatment process.
A consultation is not a formality. The information discussed helps determine what can be performed safely and appropriately.
Are walk-ins accepted?
No. Ethereal operates by appointment only.
How far in advance should I book?
Availability is limited to preserve the time and attention given to every client. Advance booking is recommended, especially for longer appointments and Saturdays.
Can I book through Instagram or text message?
The online booking system is the preferred way to reserve an appointment.
If you require assistance selecting the correct starting point, you may contact Ethereal. An appointment is not confirmed until all booking requirements, including any card or deposit, have been completed.
May I bring someone with me?
Because Ethereal is a boutique treatment space, guests should attend alone unless prior arrangements have been approved.
A parent or legal guardian must accompany clients under 18.
Treatments
Are all treatments customized?
The protocol used within a personalized appointment is selected according to the skin’s condition, history, goals and tolerance.
Certain advanced procedures follow specific safety and treatment parameters but are still adjusted when appropriate.
Are extractions included?
Extractions may be performed when appropriate for the skin and within the time available.
The amount of extraction work varies. Extensive congestion may need to be treated gradually over more than one appointment.
Can I request a specific machine or modality?
You are welcome to discuss anything you are interested in. However, a modality will only be used when it is appropriate for your skin and compatible with the treatment being performed.
Will every modality be included in my facial?
No. Personalization does not mean using everything available.
Each step must serve a clear purpose. If your skin does not need a modality—or is not ready for it—it will not be included.
Can I receive an advanced treatment during my first visit?
Advanced treatments are not automatically performed during a first appointment.
They may require previous assessment, preparation, specific home care or medical clearance. If appropriate, a future treatment plan will be discussed.
Will my skin peel after a treatment?
Not every treatment causes visible peeling.
Downtime varies according to the protocol, the intensity used and the individual skin response. Any expected recovery will be explained before treatment begins.
Will I leave red?
Temporary redness can occur after cleansing, extractions, exfoliation or certain advanced treatments.
The expected response depends on the service and your skin’s sensitivity. More significant or prolonged redness should be reported to Ethereal.
How often should I schedule treatment?
Frequency depends on your concern, the treatment performed, your skin’s response and your home routine.
Some clients benefit from a structured series. Others require maintenance or time for the skin to recover before the next appointment.
Recommendations are made individually.
Home care and products
Do I need to bring my skincare products?
For a first visit, bring the products themselves, clear photographs or a written list.
Include cleansers, toners, serums, moisturizers, sunscreen, exfoliants, retinoids, prescription products and anything used occasionally.
Will I be required to replace my entire routine?
No.
Products that are appropriate for your skin can remain. Recommendations are made only when something needs to be changed, removed or added for a clear reason.
Does Ethereal sell skincare products?
Ethereal’s primary purpose is professional skin treatment and guidance—not pressuring clients to purchase an extensive routine.
When a product is recommended, it is selected according to the needs of the skin. Clients will be given enough information to understand its purpose and how to use it.
How soon can I restart my normal routine?
That depends on the treatment performed.
You will receive aftercare instructions explaining when to resume exfoliants, retinoids and other active products. Do not restart them early simply because the skin looks or feels normal.
Health and suitability
Can you diagnose acne, rosacea or another skin condition?
No. Estheticians do not diagnose medical conditions.
I can assess visible skin characteristics, provide appropriate cosmetic treatment and recommend medical evaluation when something falls outside my professional scope.
When should I see a dermatologist?
Seek medical evaluation for concerns such as:
- A new or changing lesion.
- An unexplained or persistent rash.
- Suspected infection.
- Severe or painful acne.
- Significant swelling.
- An allergic reaction.
- Bleeding, crusting or a wound that is not healing.
- Symptoms that extend beyond a cosmetic skin concern.
When in doubt, medical evaluation should come before esthetic treatment.
Can I receive treatment while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Certain treatments and products may not be appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Disclose pregnancy, possible pregnancy and breastfeeding when booking and on your consultation forms. Your protocol will be modified when appropriate.
Medical clearance may be requested for certain services.
Can I receive treatment while taking medication?
Some medications affect sensitivity, healing, bruising, pigmentation and treatment suitability.
Disclose prescription medications, over-the-counter medications and relevant supplements accurately. Never discontinue prescribed medication without instructions from the prescribing provider.
Can I receive treatment before surgery or another cosmetic procedure?
It depends on the procedure and timing.
Inform Ethereal about upcoming surgery, injectables, laser, peels or other professional treatments before booking. Coordination or medical clearance may be necessary.
Should I book if my skin is currently reacting?
Contact Ethereal before canceling.
The planned treatment may need to be modified, postponed or replaced with a gentler assessment. Send clear photographs and a brief explanation, but seek urgent medical attention for swelling, breathing difficulty or symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.
Teen clients
Does Ethereal treat teenagers?
Yes. Ethereal treats clients 12 and older when the appointment is appropriate and all required consent has been completed.
Clients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the entire appointment. The parent or guardian signs the consent form and provides accurate health information.
Are teen treatments automatically aggressive acne treatments?
No.
Teen skin can also be dehydrated, sensitized or over-treated. The protocol is based on the condition of the skin, not assumptions based on age.
Booking, deposits and cancellations
Is a card or deposit required to book?
Depending on the service, a card or a deposit may be required to reserve your appointment. The booking system will show what is required, and the applicable terms, before you confirm.
Cards and deposits are handled according to Ethereal’s current booking policy.
What happens if I need to reschedule or cancel?
Appointments must be changed within the timeframe stated in Ethereal’s cancellation policy.
Late changes, late cancellations and missed appointments may result in loss of the deposit or an applicable fee.
Please review the complete policy before booking.
What happens if I arrive late?
Arriving late may reduce the available treatment time so the following client is not delayed.
Depending on the length of the delay, the appointment may need to be modified or rescheduled. Applicable fees or deposits remain subject to the booking policy.
What if I cannot find an appointment online?
The calendar reflects current availability.
You may check again for cancellations or contact Ethereal to ask whether a waitlist is available. An unavailable date cannot be guaranteed.
Still unsure where to begin?
New clients should start with the first-visit appointment.
You bring the history.
I will read the skin and build the protocol from there.
